Here are some questions to help guide your thinking about Food, Inc.
What did you learn about how chickens are treated? What did you learn about how chicken farmers are treated? Why do you think they are treated that way? What can we do about it?
What did you learn about how cows are treated and fed? Why do you think this is? What can we do about it?
Some of the food we eat every day is unhealthy and causes diabetes. Why do you think the rate of diabetes is higher for minorities?
Who are the people that work in meat packing plants and how are they treated? Why do you think this is?
Explain as best as you can in your own words what the Monsanto Corporation has done with soybeans and how that affects farmers. Why is this important to you?
What is one way you can take an idea from this film and make it into a video game? Who would be your hero? Who or what would be your enemy or obstacle? What would be your goal? What would you have to collect to earn points?

Goals
Please explain why you decided to come to East Austin College Prep. What are your goals? What kind of career do you want to have? What do you imagine yourself doing in the future? What makes EACPA different from other schools? Why do you think we have a dress code? Why do you think we have a longer school day? Why do you think we have Globaloria? Do you think having a class like Globaloria is important? Why or why not? Please explain your answers. This post should be at least 3 paragraphs and should take the whole period.

Button Contest
This week you will be practicing creating buttons for your game. You and your teammates will need to create a new flash file and name it with this naming convention: TeamName_ButtonPractice1.
Once you have created your file, you and your teammates will need to look on the wiki and figure out how to create a button for your game. You will need to create two frames in your Flash file. On frame 1, you will have a "Next" button and on frame 2 you will have a "Back" button. When you click "Next" it should take you to frame 2, when you click "Back" it should take you to frame 1. You may use any tutorials on the wiki to do this. Every team that has their button file correctly embedded (FLA and SWF) on their team page by the end of the period on Wednesday will earn 5 minutes of PAT time for their class. If your team does this with no help from any other teams, you will earn 10 minutes of PAT time. If you do it for another team (for example, are sitting in their seat working on their computer) you will be disqualified, your minutes won't count, and you won't get to participate in PAT time on Friday. If your class earns more than 57 minutes of PAT time, we will have PAT time on Thursday and Friday. You can earn extra minutes by adding more interesting stuff (more buttons, animations, etc.) to your file. You are not allowed to ask a teacher for help but you may ask another student.
Here is what your finished Flash file should look like:

What is your least favorite thing? Do you think the project is easy or challenging? Please explain why you think so.
Please embed the SWF file of your game at the bottom of your post.

New Schedules
Today you started a new schedule. You may have some new teachers and some new classes, or different people in the classes you had already. Please tell me about your schedule. How do you feel about it? What are you looking forward to most about this new schedule? What bothers you the most?
